FAFSA Workshop and Completion Night at Kent City HS

On Wednesday, October 23 at 6:30 pm in the HS library, families will have an opportunity to learn about the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). GRCC staff will be at Kent City HS to help families get on the computer and complete the FAFSA! Completing the FAFSA typically takes between 30 minutes to one hour. Important documents you will want to bring with you if you would like GRCC staff to help you are:




  • Social Security #’s (student, parents, stepparents)
  • Federal Tax returns from 2018 (student, parents, step-parents)
  • Benefit and asset information from 2018 (student, parents, step-parents)
  • FAFSA ID– Login to http://fsaid.ed.gov before October 23 to create your FASFA ID.  (Student and one parent, step-parents)

*  The myths regarding financial aid
*  Walking through the process of filing for the FAFSA
*  How to use all of the online services for federal loans and grants
*  Important tips on how to fill out the forms
*  Michigan programs that are available to all students
*  New highlights on student financial programs
*  What happens after you apply for the FAFSA
*  Explaining the process changes of the FAFSA

Federal Student Aid:  Find the Information You Need Online 

Go to https://fafsa.ed.gov to start your FAFSA.  Your first step is establishing your FSA ID.

For online assistance go to https://studentaidhelp.ed.gov


For phone assistance, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 800-433-3243
