FAFSA Presentation
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
As of October each year, seniors can begin filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is required by all colleges to attend. We are hosting GRCC's Financial Aid office in our library on Wednesday, October 22 from 6:30-7:30pm for parents and students to get help with their FAFSA. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Mr. Wilson (jeff.wilson@kentcityschools.org). GRCC also has staff available to help families complete their FAFSA via phone/virtual appointments or in-person appointments. Though other colleges also are helping with the FAFSA, we have had a great relationship with GRCC helping with this process. Click here to schedule an appointment with GRCC
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE COMPLETING YOUR FAFSA:
- Completing the FAFSA typically takes approximately one hour.
- Go to studentaid.gov to create your FSA ID & Password for the 2025-2026 year.
- Important documents you will want to have on hand before meeting with GRCC are: Social Security #'s (student, parents, step parents), Federal Tax Returns from 2023 (student, parents, step parents) and Benefit and asset information from 2023 (student, parents, step-parents). The financial information needed for the 25-26 FAFSA will be looking at the 2023 tax year. Benefit and asset information is also from the 2023 year.
